An Itemized List of the Strange Things that Happened to Me Today

1. I enjoyed my audition, despite being almost late. I don't know if I have a part or even a call back, but I enjoyed it immensely and may do it again sometime.

2. While attempting to get home, I was also trying to call G to tell her how things went. I became so involved in finding my ttc tokens that I didn't realize her voicemail had picked up, gone through the message, and BEEPed for quite sometime. Her message starts with: "Oh! G! I totally forgot!"

3. My soup exploded in the microwave.

4. I spilled my tea all over the couch, and dropped the cup lid on the floor. It remains intact.

5. I continuously dropped flatware on various floors. Every three seconds I turned around and there was ANOTHER fork on the floor.

6. The 24hr 7-11 down the street from me was CLOSED when I needed an ATM. My brother brought me ttc fare, only moments after I discovered that the other corner store (right beside the station) has an ATM.

7. Upon quitting the ATM, a man outside accosted me (well, was muttering things at me about "helping him out"). For the first time in my life, I simply said, "NO!" and walked away.

8. After purchasing ttc tokens with exact amounts, for some reason I expected to receive change. I stood staring at the operator for a full 10 seconds before I realized it, said "oh..." and walked away.

9. On the platform, yet another strange man tried to talk to me. He started with "Hey I-" and I cut him off with "No!" and speed walked down to the other end of the platform.

10. Getting onto the streetcar at Spadina station, my shoe fell off.

11. Although I was nearly late to the audition, I was a full 45 mins early for dance class.

I think I'm losing my mind. What's up with the universe today? I also read my tea leaves, but came up mostly blank about the far future. My near future is a journey... or two. I had two lines, both straight, but one widening at the end and the other remaining consistent. However, at the bottom of my cup, the pattern looked like an anteater, and I have never encountered an interpretation for an anteater. An ant means hard work so... am I eating hard work? Hard workers? Does that mean my work will be easy? Unprosperous? It also kind of looked like a badger so I'm not banking on anything right now.
I may just have to try to decipher the planetary alignments to see just what's going on.

Post B-Day

Thank you to everyone who came, and everyone who wanted to and was there in spirit. The night was a rousing success. The music was fantastic (shout outs to Reservoir Lounge; if you haven't been, you should go NOW!), and special mention goes to Gennie for getting our group up and dancing, as well as for turning down Creepy Guy and dancing with Cougar.

Ultimate thanks to Tiffany for planning the whole shindig, and being a thousand different kinds of organized. The mystery activity was excellent, and the tiara, though it squeezed my head, was a delightful touch. You're my hero for getting all this together, making the waiter sing happy birthday and dim the lights for me, and dancing with me for "my" song. You deserve a cookie.

Thank you to Gennie for, as mentioned, getting the group up and dancing, as well as embarassing the crap out of me telling the band's frontman that it was ALSO my birthday (as well as several others in the crowd), and dedicating several songs in my honour. That was pretty awesome. I'm enjoying tea from the special cup as I type.

Thanks to Amy for being so upbeat and so happy to come out, as well as starting the "If you had to be with..." game. I may never let you live down all your answers, but I'll never tell. ;) The poster you made was stellar.

Thanks to Jim for coming out and buying a NEW OUTFIT just for the occasion. I still feel kinda bad about the whole perfume fiasco. Thank you for dinner and making sure I got home safely, and for waiting while I got ready. My dad had a good time talking to you; I could tell.

Finally, thanks again to all of you who sent your wishes and desired to join us but couldn't for your various reasons. You definitely missed a good time, but I can promise a near repeat even if it takes a full year to come around again. Practice your dancing!

You guys are awesome.

Quick Note

Just in case y'all haven't been receiving my text messages:
I'm here and happy in Calgary. I start my first class tomorrow (placement class) and am only mildly concerned that they're going to pull me aside and ask my just how it was I got in here.
The flight was uneventful for the most part, thank god. Very little turbulence and a smooth landing, and I didn't yak at all! I didn't check any of my bags, and I couldn't bring shampoo because of the liquid/gels thing. They did, however, allow contact solution, knitting needles, nail clippers and a RAZOR in my carry-on. Weird.
I love you all and will see you in about a week. Someone hug my cat for me and tell her I miss her.
